Admissions

Each August, a new class of forty students is admitted to the Yale Physician Associate Program. The Admissions Committee selects those candidates who show the most promise of becoming outstanding physician associates and fulfilling the mission of the Yale PA Program. We enroll intelligent, mature and highly motivated students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds who have the potential to become leaders in our profession.

All applicants (U.S. citizens and international) are admitted without regard to their financial circumstances, and financial aid enables admitted students to come to Yale. We review each application individually on its own merit and admission decisions are based on the evaluation of an applicant's academic record, personal statements, previous healthcare/hands-on patient care experience, GRE scores (Institution Code 3983), and a formal interview. Only applicants formally interviewed by the Yale University PA Program Admissions Committee will be considered for admission.

Admission to the Yale PA Program is quite competitive. For the Class of 2018, 1,063 applications were reviewed and 160 applicants were interviewed for a class of 38 students.

Applications are not accepted from graduates of domestic or foreign medical schools.
